Increase the Speed in Which Firefox loads pages This guide is based on: ************BUT: 1. Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit Enter. 2. Alter the entries as follows: This means it will make 10 requests at once. 3. Lastly, right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0“;.(Zero) This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. If you’re using a broadband connection you’ll load pages faster now. network.dns.disableIPv6: set “false” ------------------------------------------------ create/edit an integer called browser.cacheinvalid-wordmory.capacity and set it to like 131072 (128 MB) Works great on a laptop with 3 GB RAM, dual core processor. Wow! That's crazy. My internet provider is pretty sucky so I spend loads of time waiting waiting waiting some more o_0 I changed up the codes as you suggested...it makes a huge difference. Thank you so very much!!! Yep ----------------------------- Thanks mean tree! Very werid though..I copied & pasted the link to the address bar and a Firefox warning came up saying I had to promise to be careful and not void the warranty. I don't really know what it meant by this since i'm just changing some links around and such. but thank you
I know another way to make things faster. Go to start->control panel->perfomance and maintenance->rearrange items on hard disk (defrag) and click analyze. When it comes up with that screen that has red green and blue places keep defragging until the red is gone. Most people don't know that you need to defragment more than one time to get it completely done. Then when your done turn your computer on and off and do it again because your computer re-organizes some of your files then you should be done Amazing! And alright, Google Chrome will be trashed. EDIT: Well, that's weird. I cant do it for Flock hehe. When I change the maxrequests to 10, it gives me the Blue Screen of Death for two times now Ok mine doesn't like the pipelining for some reason, it was slow to load <3 Everything loads MUCH faster now, with just the first three tricks. EDIT: Can you sticky this? I would print out this info, but I don't have a printer, and I'm too lazy to write it out right now, xD I knew about the first 3 but not the others.. Thanks will give em a go
